A Message from Larry Schultz of Larry Schultz Organic Farm

Many of you are aware of a recent recall of Larry Schultz Organic Farm eggs.  I would like to take this opportunity to connect with you, the customer, to better inform you of the situation and what is being done to rectify it.

We are recalling the Larry Schultz Organic Farm eggs that DO NOT have a plant number 0630 on the carton or box and have a processing date of November 12 or earlier.  For example, eggs marked: 285 EXP Nov 11 or 284 EXP Nov 10, etc. would be affected.   Eggs that have a code printed 286 NOV 12 or 286 EXP NOV 12 are also recalled.

We have had one piece of equipment test positive for Salmonella enteritidis out of many tests in one barn.  This barn produces less than 4 percent of the farm’s total production.  The Minnesota Department of Agriculture asked if we would be willing to recall everything that could have come into contact with this barn’s eggs and we immediately obliged.  Therefore, for the assurance, trust, piece of mind and safety of our customers we voluntarily decided to recall the eggs that may have come from this barn.  The facility does not have a plant number because it is our own facility and that only processes eggs that have my name on them and come from our farm.

All eggs are now taken to a processing facility that has been tested by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.  All tests taken at that facility came back negative.  Regular deliveries will be made this week and recalled eggs will be picked up from stores at that time.

It is my hope that this messages has helped to answer any questions Larry Schultz Organic Farm customers might have.  As always we appreciate your business and thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
Larry Schultz
