Area Students are Coming to the Co-op!

Tuesday, May 29th, 2012

If you happen to be shopping  at Valley Natural Foods on Friday, June 1, you’ll most likely encounter plenty of elementary students outside in our garden classroom, located on the south side of the building. What’s this all about you may ask?

Well, as part of the curriculum taught by our friends from Midwest Food Connection, area students get to take an educational field trip to to the co-op and learn all about growing  food! Students will taste herbs, plant seeds, learn about bugs and enjoy fun garden-themed activities while here. It all takes between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. If you get the chance, come take a peek at the south side of the store while these students enjoy our garden – it’s an uplifting sight for sure! On Thursday, June 7, another area school will be here to do the same.
